Juliette stays in… the Auvergne!
The Auvergne is a beautiful area in the middle of France. The region consists of four departments where everything is good for a wonderful holiday. It is also a region with contrasts and many different landscapes making it a popular destination.
Only 2.5% of the French population lives in the Auvergne, so there is a lot of space for nature and that is overwhelmingly present in this part of France. The Auvergne is part of the Massif Central in the heart of France.
First of all there are the old volcanoes on which in the winter there is even skiing. But in the summer they are the domain for hikers and mountain bikers.
L’Allier is a river that winds its way through the landscape. Places like Vichy and Moulins are worth a visit. In the neighborhood of Saint-Pourçain is one of the oldest wine regions in France. In Moulins there is a wine route of about 80km that takes you along the best spots.
Across the Auvergne also runs the pilgrims route to Santiago de la Compostella and it passes many historic villages and towns with beautiful churches and cathedrals.
Here in the Auvergne, Juliette has found a great campsite for you in the Puy-de-Dôme department.
